2016 Young People's Creative Writing Contest Results!

Thank you to everyone who entered this year's Young People's Creative Writing Contest! We had over 550 entries this year -- wow! Below is a full list of winners, and attached at the bottom of this blog post are scanned copies of the winning entries. Winners will be honored in an award ceremony on Friday, May 6, at 7 pm, at the Hardesty Regional Library's Connor's Cove Theatre. All are welcome to attend the ceremony and hear author Gordon Korman speak about writing, books, and his life as an author. Congratulations to all the winners!

Free the Books!

We’re freeing the books–and the movies, music, and all of the other wonderful things the library has to offer!  We are proud to announce that we are the first library in Oklahoma to join the Libhub Initiative. We are using Linked Data and a new cataloguing standard (BIBFRAME) to publish our collections to the Open Web, increasing their visibility and closing the huge discovery gap.
