Teen Writers, Check This Out--NaNoWriMo's Young Writers Program

Have you heard of NaNoWriMo? That's National Novel Writing Month, where people all over the world commit to writing 50,000 words of fiction during the month of November. If you love to write, sign up for NaNoWriMo either in their main program or in their young writers program. Join writers all around the globe as they write fast and furious to get out that first draft of a novel! Also, Tulsa Library's Young People's Creative Writing Contest is just around the corner--entries are accepted from February 1 - March 4, 2016.

Every year, in the third week of October, libraries across America celebrate Teen Read Week, promoting reading for the fun of it! This year's theme is "Get Away @ Your Library" and the dates are October 18-24....but Tulsa Libraries love teens and reading so much that we celebrate them for the entire month! October is Teen Read MONTH at Tulsa City-County Library. Check out our awesome events and programs--meet authors Rachel Vincent and Jennifer Lynn Barnes at Hardesty Regional Library on October 3; meet author Sonia Gensler at Helmerich Library on October 20th!

Bad Houses--Good Stories!

What happens to all your stuff when you're gone? Well, if you lived in Failin, Oregon, your belongings could end up being sold by Lewis, who works in the estate sale business. He's chafing under the oppression of life in this small town that shrinks more with every day. Then he meets Anne--who's feeling just as hemmed in as he is. Can they free themselves and each other from the weight of their parents' history and secrets? Find out in Bad Houses!

Join the New South Broken Arrow Library TAB!
