Book: Looking for Alaska
Author: John Green
Review: This is a great story about a true test of friendship. It is a wonderful story about Miles, who hates his school in Florida, decides to go to a boarding school in Alabama, one his father also attended. The good boy from Florida becomes friends with some rule bending people. It is an eye-opening expierence for him, but he comes to love it. Then when something dramatic happens to one of them, a series of conflicts and the true test of friendship comes up. However, they make it through and this story really reminds us all of the importance of friendship.

Book: Birth of the Firebringer
Author: Meredith Ann Pierce
Review: In the first book of her trilogy, Pierce creates a imaginative world with endearing characters in this book about a unicorn named Jan and his pilgrimage to become a warrior and see his future in the mirror of the moon. Brilliantly written, this fantasy will keep anyone ages 8-88 turning every page. (Second book: Dark Moon; third book: Son of Summer Stars)

Book: Megan Meade's Guide to the McGowan Boys
Author: Kate Brian
Review: This is a great page-turner about an army brat named Megan who goes and lives with the amazing McGowan Boys becuase she decided that she did not want to move to Korea with her Army Parents, so they called upon Mr. & Mrs. McGowan to take her in. However, never judge a book by its cover! Never judge the McGowan books by their general reputation, because once you really get to know them, they are a whole different clan. This pushes Megan to edge. Great book!

Book: Godless
Author: Pete Hautman
Review: This is a good book about people that wish to question their faith. Here, Pete does not wish to worship the Catholic Church, for he wants to worship the "Ten-Legged One" (a.k.a. the local watertower). However, things get rough when Pete decides to get a gang together and really begin to worship the watertower. Its a nice, quick read!

Upon realizing he is not there, she begins the mystery of finding him. She stays at a very wealthy Mexican-American's home that only adds to the great mystery!!
