FREE PROGRAMS:

Neighbors Along the Line 584-1111
Tutoring is provided n various subjects based on tutor availibility for grades K-12. Call for an apppointment.

Neighbor for Neighbor 425-5578
There is a library of free books at NfN. People may take home books and keep them. This agency hopes to start a tutoring program in the future.

Saint Augustine’s Church 428-3280
Reading and math with other subjects available on request. The center has computers for student use and offers help with homework. Hours during school year only: Monday-Thursday 3:30-5 PM. Call to register.

Salvation Army 425-7534
Offered at the North Mabee center. Hours vary, call for information.

Tulsa Community College
TCC students are available for tutoring in reading, English, Spanish, algebra and basic math. Students are trained through the Teach-A-Reader program to tutor adults. Contact the FACET center in Northeast Campus at 595-7592.

FEE-BASED (PAY) PROGRAMS:

MALEI Mathematical Learning Clinic 836-6284
Contact the organization for arranging times and meeting locations. There is also a course at TCC that was adapted from MALEI materials for parents and children to work together called PARENT AND CHILD MATHEMATICS. Contact TCC for details.

Metro Christian Academy 745-9868 ext 33
Diagnostic instruction center for all students, including those with learning disabilities. Tutoring is offered after school and during the summer.

Reading for Kids! 632-0058
This is a tutoring service for reading for children in grades K-5. Services include a free evaluation, individualized tutoring.

Sylvan Learning Center 250-7323
Year-round classes are held for adults and school-age children in reading, math, study skills, writing and SAT/ACT preparation.

Town and Country School 296-3113 ext 531
Tutoring available for all basic subjects: reading, writing, science and math, as well as study skills and homework help. Tutors are certified teachers.

University of Oklahoma Outreach, 1-800-964-8888
For entering 4th and 5th grade students. The program is designed to enhance reading skills. Call for information, locations, schedule and fees.

Yorktown Educational Services 610-0937 (610-0YES)
Tutoring for children age 4 through adults, mainly in reading with some math. The service can do learning assessments.

SPECIAL NEEDS:

Tulsa Scottish Rite Clinic for Childhood Language Disorders 622-7064
A project providing speech and language therapy services on a no-fee basis for children 18 months through 11 years who have communication problems. The service is for children who do not have permanent hearing loss, emotional disturbance or intellectual disability.

Public schools may be able to provide speech therapy at no cost. Parents need to check with their child’s school. See addresses, websites & phone numbers below.

Diagnosis, treatment and therapy are for both children and adults. Screenings are free, but therapy is fee-based.
