to Pets Mart. Volunteers are needed to walk animals who are being fostered

Junior Volunteers is a summer program. Call to be placed on the list at any
time during the year. The selection process begins in March when the applications
are mailed to teens who have expressed interest. Junior Volunteers assist the
nursing staff in a variety of ways (taking water to patients, answering phones,
transporting patients within the hospital, delivering supplies, etc.,). Junior
volunteers also work in the pharmacy, gift shop and deliver flowers to patients.

Volunteers are needed for the Klothes for Kids Project, an annual clothing
drive for needy children prior to the beginning of the new school year (July

Street Light Gang is a youth ministry designed to counter-attack gang violence

Volunteers are needed to read books to children for one hour a week at area
child care centers. AVID operates in ten childcare centers in Tulsa. Training
and ongoing support are provided. Volunteers are asked to commit for at least
six months. Volunteers read one-to-one with the same two children for 30 minutes
each. Volunteers may also choose to read to one child for 30 minutes once a
week.

Teens can experience both the joy of volunteering and explore medical careers while participating in our Junior Volunteer summer or school year programs. For the summer program, Juniors work either Mondays/Wednesdays or Tuesdays/Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. For the school year program, which lasts from September through May, Juniors can choose which day(s) of the week, including weekends, they want to volunteer. The application process is open year round. The deadline for summer program applications is the last Friday in April. The Teen Team is a corps of volunteers who assist librarians with Tulsa-City County Library activities each summer. Volunteers must be interested in gaining job experience, helping their local library, working with children, and having fun! Applicants must be 13 to 15-years old, and they must be willing to complete an application, interview for the position and complete a training session. Volunteers must be able to work for several hours a week during the summer at a Tulsa City-County Library.

Volunteers help sort and repackage donated food for distribution to non-profit
programs that feed the hungry. Individual volunteers are needed on two open
workdays each month (the third Tuesday of each month from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30
p.m., and the third Saturday of each month from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon). Individuals
who wish to volunteer must call to register for one of these days and times.
Additional working days are available to groups of eight or more.
