New reads - Non-fiction - Terrible Typhoid Mary

Quite a compelling read! Susan C. Bartoletti gives the straight-skinny on the first documented case of typhoid in America.

The author states, that if you are squeamish and don't like to read about germs, STOP now. Back in the day, before antibiotics a health crisis was identified. The detective work involved to document Mary Mallon as America's first carrier, is told with archival photos and primary source materials.  From a fatal dessert to name calling and a final day in court, this book gives both sides to a deadly story. Take a look at how medicine has evolved over the past 100 years.
