Teen Zine @ Broken Arrow Library

Feeling creative? Submit your work to Broken Arrow Library's Teen Zine, and then join us as we put it all together into an vintage-style Zine! What exactly IS a zine? We're glad you asked! A zine is a non-professionally created magazine that is self-published for very little money in small batches. Which means we're going to collage, copy, scan, and cut and paste (with scissors and glue!) to self-published glory. We're accepting submissions of all kinds; see the attachment for the submission form and more information.

Submissions will be accepted until July 24, 2015 at 6pm.

Submissions for use will be selected by teens at the "Make a Zine" program at the Broken Arrow Library on July 30th from 2-3pm.

2014 Doodle 4 Google Competition

If you're an artist or inventor, check out the 2014 Doodle 4 Google Competition! The page states that "one talented young artist will see his or her artwork on the Google homepage and receive a $30,000 college scholarship and a $50,000 Google for Education technology grant for his or her school." Check out the rules and entry form here!

Graffiti in the Moonlight

Are you interested in street art, glassblowing, poetry, Australia, and/or intrepid young adult protagonists who embark upon overnight quests full of mystery, danger, betrayal, and redemption? If any of the above caught your eye, drew your attention, or even made you pause with a ho-hum of interest, try reading Graffiti Moon by Cath Crowley. This book will satisfy on all counts.

Picturezine has been published!

Teen Writer working hard

This fall, teens at Hardesty participated in a series of creative programs aimed at publishing a 'zine. We are pleased to announce that Picturezine is finished!

An electronic version is attached here, and print copies have been made available to those who participated. Thank you to all who helped make this possible.

Picturezine Needs You!

Here at Hardesty, we've been working hard to put on some creativity programs and generate written and visual art content for Picturezine, our first-ever teen zine! Take a look at the video for info.
