The Hazel Wood

Tulsa own's , Lane Smith pens his first novel!

Most likely you remember Lane's illustrations in the classic book,  The True story of the 3 Little PIgs by A.Wolf. With over 14 books to his credit, both picture books and non-fiction he brings to teens a book about Augie Hobble.  A paranormal event, an amusement park and more intertwine in this story.  A great summer read, 4 stars for sure ****

Grim the anthology!

Quite a selection of retellings! A short story for anyone is contained in this Grim anthology! Malinda Lo has quite a wicked tale of fortune and fame. Ellen Hopkins and Sonia Gensler are authors included in the selections, as well.  Looking for a glimpse into the writing style of an author you may not know, check out GRIM for 17 tales inspired by classic fairy stories.

SORTA LIKE THE FAIRY TALE…BUT NOT

Modernized Fairy Tales seem to be everywhere these days: on TV, at the movies (2 Snow Whites!) and in books. I really liked these two and think the writer has a chance to help us all live happily ever after if she will just keep on writing!
