2014 Creative Writing Contest Winners!

Thank you to everyone that entered this year's Young People's Creative Writing Contest! We had 500 entries this year -- wow! Below is a full list of winners, and attached are scanned copies of the winning entries. Winners will be honored in an award ceremony on Friday, August 22, 7 pm, at the Hardesty Regional Library's Connor's Cove Theatre. All are welcome! Congratulations to all the winners!

May JTAG and Creative Writing

Get writing tips and inspiration during the May meeting of Jenks Teen Advisory Group! We'll discuss library services for teens, and practice our creative writing skills for YPCWC!

Winners of the 2013 Young People's Creative Writing Contest Short Play category will see their visions come to life at the Tulsa Performing Arts Center this coming Saturday, November 14th at 7 pm. The PAC will present selections from all 12 award-winning plays. An accomplished staff of the University of Tulsa's Theater Department will perform the plays under direction of Michael Wright, Applied Associate Professor of Creative Writing, Theater, and Film. All the details are below!

National Novel Writing Month

Do you NaNoWriMo? November is National Novel Writing Month. "It's a fun, seat-of-your-pants writing event where the challenge is to complete an entire novel in just 30 days. " Last year 300,000 people participated in the NanoWriMo challenge. NaNoWriMo has a Young Writers Program taking place throughout November that is self-paced and features advice from well known authors. To participate, visit http://ywp.nanowrimo.org/ .
