Young People's Creative Writing Contest


The 2014 Young People's Creative Writing Contest in just around the corner! 

Brochures will be available soon at all libraries, but for now, here's what you need to know:

  • Contest is for ages 10-18
  • 3 age groups: 10-12, 13-15, 16-18
  • 4 categories: poetry, short story, informal essay, short play, and NEW IN 2014: Graphic Short Story. 
  • Contestants may enter more than one category, but only one manuscript per category.
  • Entries accepted May 1 – June 5 
  • Enter online, starting May 1st at, or by filling out an entry form (attached below).

The JFK Profile in Courage Essay Contest is a national competition for high school students that is sponsored by the John F. Kennedy Library Foundation and John Hancock Financial.  The author of the winning entry receives $10,000!  The deadline to enter is Saturday, January 7, 2012.  Read the info below and visit the John F.
